Thank you, Judd Apatow, for sharing this fantastic book on Unlocking Us Podcast. (And if you do not listen to Brene Brown’s podcast, you need to. I listened so closely to this book and kept writing down quotes and messages that I knew it would be a repeat for sure, so I ordered the hard copy. The Untethered Soul has simply rocked my foundation. Our consciousness is so very powerful.
I have worked so diligently on becoming true to myself and detaching from other people’s opinions or how the outside world judges me. However, I still struggle with feeling incomplete or inadequate in certain areas of my life. I feel like this is relatively common, so I just accepted it as being “the way it is, “…and then I read this book. My favorite analogy by Michael A. Singer regards our “inner thorns.” He explains how we carry these thorns, and we do our best to avoid getting too close to others because it would be painful if they touched our thorns. We avoid certain situations or circumstances because we accommodate our thorns rather than remove them. “To free yourself of your inner thorns, you simply stop playing with them.” Please let me know what you think when you listen or read it!
